Dance Group: REINALDO​ ​COSTA Reynaldo was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. A graduate of the Alejo Campentier School of Dance, dance was an integral part of his academic formation. Following elementary clasical ballet, he continued studies at the Escuela de Espectáculos Musicales for three years where he focused on dance technique and performing. That period was the path that led to being admitted to Cuba's Tropicana 'little school', an intensive immersion to the company's style and performing vocabulary. Upon graduating from this program, he was admitted in 2011 to the professional company, fulfilling a life-long dream of performing on one of the world's most popular stages and with some of Cuba's most prominent artists. This success led to relocating to Mexico with the 'Cubáname Company' in the role of soloist with tours throughout the country from Mexico City to Guadalajara to Jalisco to Puerto Vallarta, and others. Today, he resides in Houston and has quickly become a sought after dancer, choreographer and teacher. In Houston he has participated and choreographed many popular events such as The Annual Salsa y Salud, conceived by Jefferson Award-winner Raul Orlando Edwards, The Annual Afro- Latin Fest and many others. DESIREE​ ​RACITI Desiree was born and raised in Catania, Italy. She was first introduced to a combination of contemporary, hip hop and funky dance styles at the early age of 5. As time progressed she was also introduced to Latin Dance Genre and that is when she realized that this would be her main dance style. She attended one of the most recognized latin dance academies in Catania called Fuego Latino where she specialized in learning Puerto Rican Salsa. During the course of her dance career she was chosen by one of her instructors, Katia Aponte, to participate and work for her dance company Las Fires where she performed in many shows all around Italy. She also participated in ballroom salsa competitions along with a dance partner where her outcome became victorious. As the years passed she continued her dancing education in Cubache Academy where she was recognized by her Cuban Instructor Luis Pestana which was also very well known in the Italian Community because of his Cuban Native dance genres. This is where she also obtained training in Afro Cuban Native Dance. She was also automatically chosen as one of the Company’s main dancers, they performed in Italy’s Salsa Congress in which many well known dancers participated such as Maykel Fonts, Let Twins, Teresa Castaneda among others.. A year later she also became an instructor along her dance partner. Today, she resides in Houston and is quickly becoming a popular dancer, choreographer and teacher. In Houston she has participated in shows and events and in her near future will be part of the Annual Salsa y Salud event that was conceived by Jefferson Award-winner Raul Orlando Edwards.
